Gone with the Wind #7

Well, during my reading I found out that Scarlett has to pay taxes. She already did but she didn't pay enough. They don't even have enough to support themselves. I mean how are they going to raise the money. The events that are taking place there are kind of taking place right now in our world. Like the economy right now is tough and when tax comes, people most likely would not pay them. Unless, times get better. So we can sort of relate to Scarlett.

Gone with the Wind #6

So the war ended and Scarlett you can imagine was happy about that. She now see her Ashley even though Ashley is Melanie. That doesn't matter to Scarlett, I think she won't stop till Ashley says he loves her. However, Scarlett heard no news of Ashley. Now there were no fear of the the Yankees coming, stealing, and killing. Scarlett also wished her mother was here. It must have been terrible for her, finding out her mother died. What I read nothing really happened except that they visted Brent and Stuart tombstones. Which must have been sad if they didn't go to the war, maybe they would still be alive.

Gone with the Wind #5

Since the Yankees took almost everything Scarlett and her family owned, they are now living with little bit of money. The family ran away to the swamp with all the animals they can carry. Now they eat rabbit, possum, and cat fish. I think it must have been hard for them, I mean they took things like Scarlett's mother's gold thimble. Now they are trying to survive without killing thier own animals. They are basically eating whatever they can find, and what they find is when they are lucky. They have a big family now with the baby. Which Scarlett is jealous of because she wanted to have Ashley's baby. Pork is helping the family alot by stealing animals. I think its wrong because the people who he is stealing from also need food and money. Then again they are trying to survive and drastic times call for drastic measures. Still I think Pork is sweet, he wants to help.

Gone With The Wind #4

Scarlett went back to Tara because the Yankees were coming in Atlanta. Melanie had her baby, I believe she named it Beau. Scarlett must have been pretty upset that Melanie and Ashley slept together. Scarlett thought that she still had a chance with him but when she found out that Melanie was pregnant, she was unhappy. She always wanted to have Ashley's baby, a little version of him. Although Scarlett has a child of her own but she is mean to Wade maybe because its Charles baby. She doesn't even take care of him. Sometimes I forget that he really exists. Well, when she came back to Tara it was really a sad moment because on the day that she came, yesterday her mom died. If she came back the day before she would have spent her last moments with her. Also her father is kind of losing it because of his wife dying. In the beginning of the book I sort of didn't like Scarlett but now she is kind of cool. A Yankee came inside the house so he can steal some things. Scarlett heard noises and grabbed a gun, I guess she was not going to let him take anything without a fight. When she saw him he holding her mother's sewing box, without hesitation she shot him. He didn't even have a chance to touch his gun. Then Melanie came by and she had a saber. Melanie and Scarlett had the same idea to kill the man. I think it was good that Scarlett killed him because he was carrying a wallet. It had alot of money and that would help them survive, also he had a horse. After a while they had a plentiful amount of food. Pork was starting to steal for the family. I think that is pretty brave of him to steal, so he can help the family. When I continued reading I thought everything was going to be fine then Yankees came to the house. Scarlett was really brave and a leader. Once she found out the Yankees are coming she ordered everyone to take any animals, food, money down to the swamp. Everyone left and Scarlett was alone with Wade and the baby. They came and was taking everything right in front of her. They even took the gold thimble of Scarlett's mother. That was heartbreaking, if that was me would of said to put that back. They even wanted to take Charles saber. She spoke up and the guy gave it back to her. I would never want to be in her place because they were taking Charles saber and everything that they own. They don't care if was a memory of a person. They would take anything so they can make money. The only thing they did not take was the money in the wallet. Scarlett put that in the baby's diaper.

Gone With the Wind #3

Poor Melanie, she got caught talking to a prostitute named Belle Watling. She was spotted by her Uncle Peter and now he is going to tell Aunt Pitty. All Scarlett did was just stare in shock. In this time if you were caught talking to a prostitute, then you will be considered one also. Uncle Peter was really upset when he caught her talking to Belle. I think it is really upsetting that when her Aunt finds out she will tell everybody in town and then Melanie would be digraced. I wonder how Ashley would react? Well, to me Belle seems to be a good person because everyday she offers money to the nurse so she can help out with the hospital. She gave Melanie the money in a dirty hankerchief with coins in it. In it, it had 50 dollers in gold coins. What was more interesting was the hankerchief had the intials R.K.B. Which to me seems like the intials of Rhett Butler. Also Scarlett has the same hankershief that Rhett gave her. Scarlett then got very angry. I think there has to be a resonable explanation because to me Rhett doesn't seem like the type of guy who would sleep with a prostitute. If he is then that will really change my view on Rhett. I mean imagine how Scarlett feels, especially when she is the jealous type. I also think that Scarlett likes Rhett she just always wants the guy to admit it first. She doesn't want to reveal her love but love reaveled to her.

Gone With The Wind #2

In the book Gone with the Wind, mostly they are talking about the war that is going on. In this book they describe Rhett as a hero and also helpful because he uses his own boats to get supplies from other countries. Since the ships are blockaded. I think Scarelett is finally realizing her feelings for Rhett. Even though he annoys her frequently but Scarlett trys to be a lady. Why? Well, Rhett knows her little secret when she expressed her feelings about Ashley. Rhett even told Scarlett because of that she was no lady.

The Lottery

The video that I just saw was really disturbing. However, it did really help me understand the short story better. Maybe because I wasn't really paying attention. Like the whole idea of a lottery is to win a prize but this prize involves you dying by getting hit by stones. Even the kids can participate in this event. So I think the people in this story like the lottery. But when they win its a whole differents story. They say it isn't fair and make up all these excuses but in the end they get stoned. If they didn't win they would have easily stoned the person that did as they pleaded to stop. It is a really wierd story and I can not imagine having the lottery in New York. I would surely move because I would not like to get stoned nor would I like stoning other people. In this story they have the option but they don't. I really don't understand why that is.

Gone With The Wind #1

I am reading Gone with the Wind, and in the beginning of the book I didn't understand, but as I read further on I started to like it even more. When it got to the part of the barbecue, thats the scene that caught my interest. That is where Scarlett told Ashely that she loves him. I thought that was really selfish of her because she knew that Ashley was going to propose to Melanie. For Scarlett to say that to Ashley now, its just wrong. She should have told him how she felt a long time ago. I read anothehar book called The Boleyn Inheritance and Scarlett reminds me of a young girl named Katherine. Scarlett and Katherine are young and too flirtatious for there own good. Also both of them can have any man they desire. In Gone with the Wind I am up to the part with the war and when Scarlett was reading Ashley's letters that he sent to Melanie. It was really rude of her that all she can think about was the letters weren't love letters. Just because they weren't she thought maybe I still have a chance with Ashley, he still loves me and want to marry me. I hope soon she will get over him and just accept the fact that Ashley is with Melanie. I mean she is so in love with him she waits for everyone to leave the house, so she can sneak in Melanie's room and read her private letters. Its not that I don't like Scarlett as a character she just needs to let things go.

The Outsiders:Movie Review

I loved the book The Outsiders and the movie was pretty much just like it. It was very suspenseful and made you laugh at time to time. The only negative thing I have to say is Ponyboy kept crying all the time (tuff). Still I love this movie it was very sad at the end and the movie was exactly what I expected.
