I am from the morning sun leaking through your window shades,
The pillow that you reach for comfort,
And the teddy bear you hug for security,
The covers that give warmth.
I am from the greener side of the grass.
Flowers that grow larger than others.
The humming of the humming birds.
The wishing and wanting to make a moment last longer.
I am from the underground
Where trains linger and there names are letters and numbers.
The darkness in the tunnels is the mode of transportation.
Where they take us from street to street.
I am from the slumber, you cry for at the end of the day
From the stars that replaced the clouds
And the moon that replaced the sun.
The moment you meet with that pillow.
When sleep consumes you into dreaming.
That is where I am from.

Response to "The Beast" Ending
I just finished the book "The Beast" by Walter Dean Myers and overall I did like it but the ending was really confusing. I don't understand how Spoon tells Gabi that he loves her and would help her overcome this drug problem but at the same time he is kissing Chanelle. In the end of the book Spoon was about to tell Gabi about the feeling he had for Chanelle but decided not to tell her. Which makes me think if Chanelle is okay with him loving another girl while there in a relationship. Also in the end, Gabi goes to drug counceling because she wantes to be a strong dominican women like her mom wanted her to be. I am proud of her trying to kick this drug problem. Then we found out Rafe was using so we never really found out life was really gang banging. In this book Gabi and Spoon's relationship isn't as strong as I thought it would be. In the epilougue they were planning there future together. This book was really good but the ending was really disappointing. There was no drama and they acted like nothing happened in the past.

Her mother hates her for using and she doens't even help to get her out of it. Gabi is also left to watch her mother suffer to believe that her ex-husband would come back to her, and take care of her blind grandfater, and her young brother. Gabi is just falling and there is really no one to catch her because her mother dies. There is Spoon but she doesn't want him to see her like this and doesn't want to trouble him. Spoon and Gabi are both trapped in the labyrinth and they don't know how to get out.

Black Clouds
Black Clouds are circling the sky
Until every day and very hour is night
Black Clouds won't go away
And I wonder would there ever be light again
Would they ever be day again
And then i smiled at the thought
And then the Black Clouds started to depart
Until every day and very hour is night
Black Clouds won't go away
And I wonder would there ever be light again
Would they ever be day again
And then i smiled at the thought
And then the Black Clouds started to depart

Big Joe's Funeral
In class we read the short story Big Joe's Funeral. This short story wasn't really that interesting to me. It was about a guy who was very kind to everyone and he had alot of money. If you ask him for some he will give it to you and wouldn't expect you to pay it back. Then one day he canceled his insurance and got alot of money back. He wanted to have a party, a party where all of his friends and family would have a good time. Then he had an idea to have a funeral and then the party. Most people were confused but he just wanted to see what would people say about him if he was really gone. What Big Joe did was pretty stupid. He faked his own funeral so he can hear what people would say and do on his funeral. I guess its sort of understandable because on your funeral your friends and family say their last words to you and if your dead how can you hear. In the story there was girl named Peaches wanted to end party so she started to protest saying "He is not really dead." Peaches actions were kind of rude like she brought a boom box to the graveyard when Big Joe was being buried. Overall, this short story was okay I liked the other ones better.
