Response to "The Beast" Ending

I just finished the book "The Beast" by Walter Dean Myers and overall I did like it but the ending was really confusing. I don't understand how Spoon tells Gabi that he loves her and would help her overcome this drug problem but at the same time he is kissing Chanelle. In the end of the book Spoon was about to tell Gabi about the feeling he had for Chanelle but decided not to tell her. Which makes me think if Chanelle is okay with him loving another girl while there in a relationship. Also in the end, Gabi goes to drug counceling because she wantes to be a strong dominican women like her mom wanted her to be. I am proud of her trying to kick this drug problem. Then we found out Rafe was using so we never really found out life was really gang banging. In this book Gabi and Spoon's relationship isn't as strong as I thought it would be. In the epilougue they were planning there future together. This book was really good but the ending was really disappointing. There was no drama and they acted like nothing happened in the past.

Because when Gabi was breaking down, Spoon needed some lovin' at the momment. And Chanelle liked him so like, she was up for grabs. But SPoon really loved Gabi so he pushed Chanelle out of the picture and stayed with Gabi. I'm also glad she's trying to kick out the drug problem also. (Go, Gabi!)
