Bad Boy by Walter Dean Myers

This book is about Walter Dean Myer's life, a memoir. So far, I am up to his childhood and how rough it was growing up in Harlem. When you think of an author writing so many good books, you think he got good grades and was a good student. Walter Dean Myers was different, he is so down to earth. He got into fights in school, frequently, and most of his teachers didn't like him because he caused trouble. He got bad grades and bad conduct. He wasn't all trouble though. The only thing he was good at was reading but people thought differently. He had a speech problems and had to take classes for it. That was a suprise since he grew up becoming an author. Nothing else happened so far in this book since I just started. Mostly just explaining his life as a boy in elementary school. Also, the challenges he faced with his bad grades. His mother got upset and beat him everytime he did something wrong. So far, this book is interesting!
